UWA continues to build research and postgraduate strengths linked to, and sustained by, a high-quality undergraduate programme in which teaching and learning take place in an atmosphere of research and scholarship.

The awarding of the prestigious Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in October last year to Professor Barry Marshall and Dr J. Robin Warren – faculty members of the University of Western Australia (UWA) – highlighted the quality of scientific research in Western Australia.
