Less than 24 hours after its launch by Guest-of-Honour,
Minister for Home Affairs, Mr Wong Kan Seng at the Police Workplan
Seminar (WPS) 2005 on 14 April 2005, all 1,000 copies of SPF's inaugural
publication of solved murder cases, titled 'Justice Is Done' were
snapped up by officers at its exchange booth at the WPS 2005.
'Justice is Done' is a compilation of some of the most prominent
solved murder cases of the last decade. It offers readers a glimpse
into the world of murder investigations with its painstaking fact
finding and meticulous evidence gathering.
Dedicated to the officers of the Special Investigation Section (SIS)
and the unsung heroes who played their part in solving the cases,
this book by Foo Siang Luen, who is currently Senior Assistant Director,
National Marketing Department of the
Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA), provides
an insight into how modern forensics and computer technology together
with old-fashioned deductive instincts and skilful interviewing
led to the cracking of some of the most intractable murder cases
of recent times.
The publication is dedicated to our intrepid SIS investigators,
and many unsung heroes who have worked professionally and tenaciously
alongside our investigators, at crime scenes or in their various
capacities; be it the collection of intelligence or supporting police
operations and investigations. The publication is strictly for internal
circulation and will be distributed to police officers in the coming
weeks. |
